The EU General Product Safety Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2023/988) has been enforceable since 13 December 2024. Every product you sell into the EU now carries this list. Miss any one of them and a marketplace can pull the listing, or an authority can act.

  • Art. 16 — EU Responsible Person. A named contact established in the EU, on every listing and label.
  • Technical File. Design, materials and safety evidence, retained and producible on request.
  • EN 71 · REACH — Risk assessment. Hazards assessed against the standards that apply to your category.

  • Record retention. All of the above kept and retrievable for 10 years after the last sale.
  • Art. 20 — Incident reporting. Safety issues reported to authorities through the Safety Gate portal.
  • Authority requests. Respond to market-surveillance demands, in the local language, on a deadline.
  • Marketplace fields. RP details entered correctly in each platform's compliance manager, from Etsy to TikTok Shop.
  • Per product. Not once. Every distinct product needs its own file and assessment.
